All eligible referrals are medicare rebatable. Sigma Ultrasound requires a referral for our diagnostic medical imaging and we welcome all referrals.

At Sigma Ultrasound, we provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support the assessment and management of a wide range of medical conditions. Our Varsity Lakes practice welcomes referrals from GPs, specialists and eligible healthcare professionals across the Gold Coast.

Our ultrasound services include:

Obstetric ultrasound, including pregnancy examinations such as dating, morphology and third trimester scans.
Women's health ultrasound, including pelvic, endometriosis, breast imaging, follicle tracking and gynaecological imaging.
Men's health ultrasound, such as prostate, fertility and scrotum scans.
General diagnostic ultrasound, including abdominal, renal and thyroid examinations.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound, including imaging of muscles, tendons, joints and soft tissues. These include hip, shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist, fingers, ankle, thigh scans.
Vascular ultrasound: carotid, abdominal aorta aneurysm and other scans.
Urgent and priority scans including deep vein thrombosis, appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy, torsion and other urgent scans.

Referral and Medicare Information

A valid referral from a qualified referring healthcare professional is required for diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Referrals should include the relevant clinical information and requested examination to assist our sonographers and reporting radiologists in providing appropriate diagnostic imaging.

We welcome all referrals and accept eligible Medicare-rebatable examinations.

Every examination is performed by a qualified sonographer and reviewed by a specialist radiologist. Our clinical team is committed to providing accurate, reliable imaging and clear diagnostic reports to support referring practitioners in making informed clinical decisions.

All Scans are 100% Bulk Billed with valid Medicare Referral.

Monday–Friday All examinations are no cost to you. Excludes Obstetric Scanning- Dating, Morphology & Third Trimester Ultrasounds.

Saturday We are open some Saturdays, please check our booking system for availability.

Morphology & Third Trimester $230 with an applicable Medicare rebate returned to you.

Dating Scans $130 with an applicable Medicare rebate returned to you.
